My fave, Ketsana
Strong-willed, smart and lovely. These made Ketsana my favorite amongst the bevy of beauties who work as dealers in Savan Vegas Hotel & Casino. Her face, an extreme combination of sharp & soft features, reminds me of American actress, Julia Stiles. She resigned and today is her last working day, so we planned this shoot before she leaves Laos. We're supposed to meet at 5 p.m. but she showed up late and near dusk. She looked like she barely had sleep. Her hair was undone, not the usual prim and coiffed, braided hairstyle she wore at work. The face barely had make-up on and her lips were faintly tinted with gloss. 'Twas not what I expected to shoot. I thought I should have taken her picture while she's in uniform, with her hair neatly in place and maquillage on her face. She profusely made apologies for being late and gayly coaxed me to start the pictorial, as it was fast getting dark. Ever positive, she pointed out the sky with it's fading luminance and stood on a spot where ambient light was still available.
Ketsana and friend, Yupha
Her angular jaw was quite a challenge and tilting her head in different ways had been tedious. Posing with her friend, Yupha, who had equally strong features, she obediently followed ALL my directions without the slightest hint of hesitation (nor irritation), just like how she worked in the casino.
Ketsana a la Julia Stiles
In between takes, her true beauty dawned on me. Her porcelain skin was picture perfect. Why on earth did I think she needs make-up for this shoot? Subtle glints of light reflected happiness in her eyes. No amount of eye shadow can duplicate that effect. The strong jaw emphasized her captivating smile that brought about an air of classy charm. It's a shame
I got distracted with tilts and angles instead of recognizing her positive aura right away.
Bidding me goodbye, her eyes welling up with tears, she whispered,
"Madame, I love you. Don't forget me." Beauty like this..How can I?
